HP Spectre x30 model 13t-ae000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I had a fan go out (common problem on this model) and she was made aware by a bios warning pre-boot.  She never disregarded it and shut the computer off to prevent overheating.  Out of warranty, I found a replacement part myself and used HP's youtube video to remove and replace the fan (you could easily tell it's spin was hesitant, confirming the bios warning that it wasn't spinning fast enough.

Upon reassembly I have found that my laptop appears bricked.  When pushing the power button, the white light very slowly blinks but NOTHING else happens.  Taking the cover back off, I see the fans don't even start spinning.  It seems to me the boot up process doesn't even get to bios, as if there is some motherboard hardware failure.

I tried hard resets (which do stop the slow blink).  I tried detatching and reattaching all of the cables I previously had to remove (battery, display panel zif connector, and fan power) and am certain they are all attached properly.  I see no signs of damage from the fan replacement.

The idea that the MoBo was already cooked from overheating seems wrong because just before the fan replacement, boot up would light the screen and give me a bios warning, whereas now, there is NO boot up/screen light up/fan spin etc.

Any suggestions as to what is wrong or what I might have broken that I have overlooked?

This laptop had a lot of hardware upgrades and is a 15 months out of warranty.  I am quite frustrated.

Thanks for any help!

There is little any of us can do to help you remotely.

A fan issue is actually not  a common problem either x360 spectre notebooks. Look at the big picture in statistical terms.

Resolving this would have to involve a disassembly and reassembly by a technician or someone with experience. We have no way of gauging your own experience as a technician or PC enthusiast. We are not judging you. You tried.

I do highly recommend that you bite the bullet  and farm the repair out to a mobile technician or a notebook repair shop.
