I have a HP Folio 13-2000. It would lag and the fan would spin for the 4 years that I have had it. I finally opened it up and upgraded to 8gb of ram and did a repaste with kryonaut. The first time I put too much paste and the lowest it would get at idle was 48C for an instant. After I repasted taking the tame to clean the surfaces thoroughly and using just a single line of paste, the lowest temp I saw was 39C, also just for a second. The bios is as up to date as it will ever be. Running Windows 10 instead of the original Windows 7. All the vents were clear and clean and my particular cpu doesn't seem to be able to undervolt. The machine wine from the fan seems to always be there, but now it doesn't kick into loud high gear like it did before. Boot up no longer seems to kick the fan in to high gear anymore. The battery charge appears to last substantially longer, as in an extra hour, probably since the fan works less. All in all a successful procedure.
