Hi:

Yes, you can upgrade the memory in that model series, but HP only has the service manual for the previous 15s-Eq0xxx model series available.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP 15 Laptop PC

According to chapter 1 of that manual, your notebook has two memory slots and can support 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-3200 memory.

If you wanted to add more memory than 16 GB, you can do this to see how much memory your notebook can support:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Thanks ! I also read that some laptops solder the board inside and you can't add a RAM. How do I check this?

You're very welcome.

Yes, that is the case on some notebook models that the memory is an integral part of the motherboard.

If you look at chapter 5 of the service manual I posted for you, there is a procedure to remove and replace the memory, so it is definitely removable.

Another hint that if you see a manual where in chapter 1, it indicates the memory is 'onboard' that means the memory is an integral part of the motherboard.

In the service manual for your notebook's model series, it just indicates that there two SODIMM slots, not customer accessible or upgradeable'

The 'not customer accessible or upgradeable' statement means that HP requests any upgrades be done by an authorized service center.

You can see this discussion for what I believe to be the case if the notebook is under warranty...
