Yes, you can turn off Bitlocker and format the 2.5" drive and use it for storage.

I always leave Bitlocker turned off,  even though I do have the recovery key saved on paper and in my Microsoft account.

Hi:

It does.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the supported drive configurations...

Hello.. sorry for a typo in my original question..i have read the manual in there it is written 256gb plus 1tb hdd but for 512gb ssd it's not mentioned if it supports 512gb ssd plus 1tb hdd.. it's just written as 512gb ssd..i am a bit confused 😅..a screenshot or something will be helpful and also the link you shared shows no page found..

Hi:

The link to the manual works fine for me.

I have zipped up and attached the pdf file of the service manual, below.

The drive capacities listed in the manual are just what HP offered in the model series, not the maximum capacity supported.

I can't think of any reason why a 512 GB NVMe SSD wouldn't work along with a 1 TB 2.5" HDD.

Thank you for replying..so the 256gb ssb plus 1tb hdd mentioned in the pdf is just what hp offers for intel core processors but i can go above it like 512gb plus 1tb?

Also the new drive i got is bitlocker locked but i do have the key so after connecting it and unlocking it,can I format it as i want to reinstall windows to it

Yes, that is correct.
