HP Notebook - 15-da0403ng

Hello,
I have an HP notebook - 15-da0403ng, product 4PL29EA,
series CND8360KHS with a Toshiba KBG30ZMV256G M.2 NVMe SSD. I would like to replace this SSD with a 1 TB SSD. The Toshiba KBG30ZMV256G M.2 NVMe SSD has a SATA III interface. Which SSD can I use for this? The SSDs suggested by the virtual assistant, Samsung (e.g. Samsung 970 Evo or 980 Pro) or Crucial (e.g. Crucial P5), seem to have a different interface. Thanks for your help

Hi:

Your notebook's M.2 SSD slot supports both SATA and NVMe SSD's.

See chapter 1 of the service manual:

HP 15 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide

The PCIe slot generation is 3.0.x 2 which means a PCIe Gen 3.0 NVMe SSD is only going to run at approximately 1/2 of its advertised read/write speeds.

I'd go with a Crucial P310 Gen 4 since it costs hardly any more than the Crucial P3 Gen 3.

Hello, thank you very much for your support. Without your help, choosing an SSD would have been like playing the lottery. Everything worked perfectly. And the notebook is ready for use for the next few years. 👍 🖖
