I want to upgrade my laptop's RAM and harddrive. First question, I was wondering if the following products are compatible with the laptop:
Kingston A400 2.5" 480GB SATA III TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SA400S37/480G
My second question is if these are good components for the upgrade. If not, a suggestion that would be better and in the same price range (thinking of spending 150-300 dollars canadian for both parts).
My last question would be if the performance of the laptop would significantly improve by upgrading with these parts? I am a programmer so I use IDE's such as Visual Studio and Unity (they tend to lag a bit) and virtual machines (they are extremely slow on the laptop at the moment). I was wondering if these issues would be improved?
Here are the specs of the laptop currently:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4200U CPU @ 1.6GHz 2.30 GHz
RAM: 8.00GB (7.90 usable)
System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor
Thanks so much!

I'm not a pro but I think RAM + SSD are good for your Laptop. G.Skill & Kingston are both good. I'm using the same laptop with SSD 240GB of KingDian - a chinese manufaturer and feels good. Keep upgrade it and give me some feedback, OK! Good luck.
