I bought a an HP-Laptop-15-da0xxx(64 bit) with the following specs Intel® Core™ i3-8130U CPU @ 2.20GHz × 4 . I want to know what is the maximum ram i can upgrade to. I also would like to know what is the corresponding DDR i would need to upgrade to in order to achieve maximum ram. For instance is it possible to upgrade to 32gb of RAM with DDR4, will these upgrades be supported by this computer. My PC is very slow, I switched from windows to linux mint hoping that it would be a bit faster but it's still slow, especially when i'm running a virtual machine. Your help will be appreciated.

Here is the Service Manual:
p. 38-44 for how to. Your memory is DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM. Max is 32 gigs (2 x 16). However, if your laptop is slow you are likely best off upgrading to a solid state drive if you are running a mechanical hard drive. Anything over 16 gigs is overkill for most users. You will see the Manual says 16 gb is the max but its proven it will run 32 gigs. It will accept a PCIe/NVME M.2 SSD which is the best storage you can get in a consumer laptop: a real game changer.
