I have the HP Laptop PC 15-dw3025od. I want to upgrade the space from just HDD to SSD and I can't find any info on the PCIe slot. Do I need to get SATA or can I hook up an M2 NVMe into the slot? First time SSD user

@Kristovski,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

According to the specs, your HP Laptop PC 15-dw3025od (2Q3J4UA) is (originally) fitted with an i5-1135G7.

If you don't mind, please type in System Information in your Windows search bar, and left-click on the System Information App.  Please look up "BaseBoard Product", and provide the number that is listed there to the right.  It most likely is either the 881D or 881E.

Information is challenging to come by.  However, it appears that your laptop's M.2 SSD slot is M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe Gen3 x4 compatible.

Here is a user with an 881D motherboard fitted with a "TEAMGROUP MP33 512GB SLC Cache 3D NAND TLC NVMe 1.3 PCIe Gen3.0 x4 M.2 2280 Internal Solid State Drive SSD": https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/42661079

And here is a user with an 881E motherboard fitted with an "HP EX900 M.2 500GB PCIe 3.0 X4 NVMe 3D TLC NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)": HP Laptop 15-dw3xxx Performance Results - UserBenchmark

I would suggest something like a Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 PCIe Gen 3.0 x4 NVMe 1.3 SSD.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
