@Tomehenslee,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Please be a little more specific with regard to your HP g7 Pavilion model -such as the HP Compaq Pavilion g7-2226nr.

@Tomehenslee,

Chances are you can upgrade your HP g7 Pavilion up to 2 x 8GB of DDR3 PC3-12800, 1600 MHz, Non-ECC, SDRAM SODIMM, 204-pin RAM sticks, as seen here: HP - Compaq Pavilion g7-2226nr | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com.

Speaking of Crucial, there is currently [08/02/2022] a deal at Amazon pricing a Crucial BX500 1TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5-Inch Internal SSD, up to 540MB/s - CT1000BX500SSD1 for just $64.99 -a great deal, IMO: https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-BX500-NAND-2-5-Inch-Internal/dp/B07YD579WM/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1HAYGW3HEW....

You probably need a 9.5mm adapter to make the smaller 2.5" 7mm SSD fit: https://www.amazon.com/ZRM-9-5mm-Adapter-Laptop-Spacer/dp/B08BY8HS9S/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2DARVPENVBTXL&k....

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
