i want to upgrade my dv6-6173cl processor ( core i7 2nd gen) to core i7 3rd or 4th gen.
is it possible or not?

No. It is not possible because the socket for the 2nd gen processor will only allow that specific type processor to physically fit. The number of pins is different for each processor generation.
