I want to upgrade my computers ram, but when I try to find it on https://www.crucial.com/ I’m not able to find my model, so I tried to come to HP, but I’m having trouble finding if I can upgrade my ram and if so, what type of ram.

Hi:

 

Below is the link to the Crucial memory report for your notebook.

 

Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | hp - compaq | hp 17-by series | HP 17-by1053dx | Crucial.com

 

According to the report, you can install up to 2 x 16 GB of memory.

 

Below is the link to the service manual. 

 

HP 17 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide

 

Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade info.

 

According to HP, the max memory is 2 x 8 GB, but the Crucial report is almost always right.

 

You can usually install 2 x 16 GB of memory in most notebooks that have 2 memory slots and an Intel 8th gen core processor.
