Hello I have a HP Notebook 15-af137nr and would like to upgrade the ram to 16gb and would like to know what piece is compatible with my computer.

Hi:

 

This site indicates the max memory is 2 x 8 GB.

 

I recommend this 8 GB memory if you can get it in Argentina:

 

Timetec 8GB DDR3L / DDR3 1600MHz (DDR3L-1600) PC3L-12800 / PC3-12800(PC3L-12800S) Non-ECC Unbuffered...

 

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates the max memory is 2 x 4 GB.

I recommend that you run this command to see what Windows indicates is the maximum memory:

 

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

 

This will open the command prompt.

 

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.

 

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

 

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
