OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-wf0000 (755G4AV)

I wish to upgrade my HP Omen gaming laptop that has a Western Digital WD PC SN810 SDCPNRY-512G-1006 with a 1 TB or 2 TB SSD gen4 .

Your notebook comes with two M.2 slots.

 

You can keep the current boot drive in the primary slot and install a new NVMe drive in the secondary M.2 slot for data storage.

 

Of course, you can replace the boot drive with a new NVMe, as you planned.

 

Your service manual (on page 2) states HP offers 2 TB NVMe SSDs gen4x4, so you should be able to install a 1TB or 2 TB NVMe without problems.

Maintenance and Service Guide

 

Pages 37-39 of the manual indicate NVMe SSDs need to be in the thermal enclosure. You need to buy a single-sided NVMe that doesn't come with a heat sink attached to the drive.
