My laptop is an HP laptop 15-bs1xx

Microprocessor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-5005U CPU @ 2.00GHz.

Memory: Kingston 4GB DDR3 PC3-12800 (800 MHz)

Product Number: 4UL74EA#BH5

 

And I would like to upgrade it to 16GB any advice?

Does this mean I can replace the memory that came with it for the new one and it will work fine?

Yes.

 

You can either add the 8 GB chip to the 4 GB chip your notebook came with, and have 12 GB, or remove the 4 GB chip and install 2 x 8 GB chips.
