This is with regard to the above.
In 'Device Manager' under the section “IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers,” there is a device containing “AHCI” in its name but it says 'Intel 6th generation...,' whereas my Device is actually 8th generation i5 core processor, so why the discrepancy?
Will appreciate a reply.

Hi:
What is the hardware ID for the controller you have a question about?
Use this guide to find that information...
https://www.howtogeek.com/193798/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-the-device-manager/
After you find the hardware ID, here is a partial copy and paste of the AHCI driver setup information file, which labels the AHCI controller according to what hardware ID it has.
Yours should have the first hardware ID listed, and that is completely normal.
iaStorAC.ServiceName = "Intel(R) Chipset SATA/PCIe RST Premium Controller"
RstMwService.ServiceName = "Intel(R) Storage Middleware Service"
RstMwService.ServiceDescription = "RPC endpoint service which allows communication between driver and Windows Store Application"
RstMwService.EventLogSourceName = "RST Middleware"
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9D03&CC_0106.DeviceDesc = "Intel(R) 6th Generation Core Processor Family Platform I/O SATA AHCI Controller"
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A282&CC_0106.DeviceDesc = "Intel(R) 300 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller"
