HP Spectre x360 13.3 inch notebook (2019)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just bought this laptop 2 months ago and the IR webcam for windows hello flashes a few seconds after I sign in and I'm viewing the desktop screen. Previously when I have used older Hp notebooks the IR camera stops flashing immediately when it recognizes me and I sign in. I have already tried uninstalling the IR webcam and having windows boot back up and reinstall it automatically and nothing changed.

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

I have the same issue.  My PC is fully up_to_date with all updates and it is still doing it.  It used to stop flashing as soon as login completed.  Now it continues flashing for several seconds after the face recognition login is complete.

Hi.  I have the same issue.  Did you get a fix for it? My PC is fully updated and still has the issue.

Hi.

This wa happening fvor me when powering on from a full shut down.  It was not happening from a restart.

The AU HP support folks on WhatsApp helped me fix this. The SOLUTION is as follows:

Disable  Fast Startup from the Power Options.

Press the windows key then type in Power options -> Power & sleep settings -> select 'additional power settings' from the right pane -> Select 'choose what closing the LID does' -> click on change settings that are currently unavailable then uncheck the option 'fast startup'

For both Full Power Off and Restart, this fix stopped the flashing after login.

happy days. Hope this fixes yours too.
