Entertainment Notebook HP Pavilion dv7t-4000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

a couple of week ago the motherboard died on my laptop, and now I'm having troubles on identifyng the right model to replace it.

The laptop was on a laboratory to try to (unsucessfull) repair the motherboard, so I've searched the code of the motherboard by myself, on HP Partsurfer, and after inserting my serial and product number, I had that code back: 615308-001.

I've started the search for a replacement using that code, but today the seller has got the laptop back, opened it, and the code he has is: DAOLX6MB6H1

So I started to get confused, and I don't know what I've to search anymore.

I would like to solve it from another point of view, if it's possible, as I'm starting to think that something is wrong there. That ones below are all the characteristics of my PC.

Entertainment Notebook HP Pavilion dv7t-4000 CTO S
Intel Core I7 CPU Q720 1,60GHz 1600Mhz 4 core 8 process - 8GB RAM (1 reserved to the graphic)
Dedicated graphic card AMD

what is the code of the motherboard that should be installed on that kind of PC?

(if more details are needed, I'm here to answer. thanks in advance)

@Luke_80

Please only use part # other number/code is product number/code. 615308-001. is the right one

Note: your machine is a CTO machine therefore SAME motherboard but may have different CPU, video card ...

Thanks a lot for the fast answer.

What do you mean with CTO?Configure to Order? What's the difference here?

If I understand correctly what you're saying, when I'll search for the replacement with code 615308-001, I'll have to make attention to the details of the motherboard to confirm that is compatible with the characteristics of my laptop.

Also, I found that in an HP Manual:

615307-001 System board for use only with computer models equipped with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 discrete graphics subsystem with 1-GB of dedicated memory (Quad core) and subwoofer v.1.0 (includes replacement thermal material)
615308-001 System board for use only with computer models equipped with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 discrete graphics subsystem with 1-GB of dedicated memory (Dual core) and subwoofer v.1.0 (includes replacement thermal material)
615309-001 System board for use only with computer models equipped with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 discrete graphics subsystem with 1-GB of dedicated memory (Quad core) but no subwoofer (includes replacement thermal material)
615310-001 System board for use only with computer models equipped with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 discrete graphics subsystem with 1-GB of dedicated memory (Dual core) but no subwoofer (includes replacement thermal material)

605320-001 System board for use only with computer models equipped with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 discrete graphics subsystem and 1-GB of dedicated memory (Quad core), but no subwoofer
605321-001 System board for use only with computer models equipped with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 discrete graphics subsystem and 1-GB of dedicated memory (Dual core), but no subwoofer

And using 4 of that codes, if I search in HP Parts Store, I get the same result as the image above posted by Banhien (the laptop model is listed the same way)

615307-001, 615308-001, 605320-001, 605321-001

The other two, I don't know, cause there's no list of laptops using them available.

Very important: my laptop is quad core, and the 615308-001 you were confirming, is actually for dual core, if the info on that manual is right. Link of the manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02666747.pdf

In the end the code in the motherboard inside the laptop was 615307-001, the quad core option.

So my next question is:

Considering what was in the manual posted yesterday, can I consider 615309-001 615320-001 as good and compatible version too now that I'm going to search for the replacement?

For what I can understand, only differences are the subwoofer (that I already have) and the thermal material, nothing else, but I would like to be 100% sure before buying.

Also, any hint for how to find that pieces would be welcomed, as those pieces are listed as out of stock in HP official site and HP Parts.

Can someone please confirm that the 605320-001 is the same as 615307-001 (with the only differences being subwoofer ant thermal material)

I need to order the part, and there're only a few solutions with 615307-001, more with the other.

If anyone could confirm it, please tell me one way to contact someone on HP that could give me a official confirmation. I haven't found any email and way to communicate with HP tecnics.

Thanks.
