Hello,
I have a HP laptop 15-db003ca that I have purchase a few years back. Since the moment I have bought it, I'm unsatisfied with the performance of the product. It is so slow....
I have read the comment of an expert, in January 2022, on this forum. Someone wanted to switch the hard drive for a 500GB SSD. The expert replied that it was a good idea but the laptop also have a M.2 slot that could a NVMe SSD and it would be faster than SATA SSD.
Here's my question:
1. I understand that the NVMe SSD is faster than a 500GB SSD. Does it mean that I would keep the hard drive with 1TB in place and I would add the NVMe SSD in the open M.2. slot?
2. It seems there are physically different sizes of NVMe SSD. Which one fits for the HP laptop 15-db003ca?
3. What would be the recommendation for the minimal storage space to be satisfied?
Thank you for your help

Here is the Service Manual:
Page 42 has a good image of the M.2 slot next to the battery. Yes, you would want to keep your 1 TB 5400 rpm mechanical hard drive as storage and add an NVME M.2 SSD 2280 form factor as the boot drive. With 1 TB of storage you could get by with a 256 gig SSD but I recommend at least a 512 gig.
This is a good one and you have options to buy different sizes:
This is what I have in my own laptop:
Potentially somewhat faster than the Crucial.
Post back if you need any more help.
