Touch all-in-one 23.8" comes with 8gb ram. Is this a single 8gb ddr4 sodimm module? Or are both banks occupied by 4gb (2x4gb)? The max is 16gb. I would like to buy ram before opening pc so hoping someone knows if I need one 8gb for the empty bank, or 2x8gb to replace 2x4gb bcuz both banks need to be occupied. Like I said, I prefer to have the ram on hand before "raising the hood". Thnx.

Hi:
According to the parts list for your notebook, HP installed a single 8 GB memory chip.
I don't know why they have UDIMM and SODIMM part numbers listed.
Your PC uses SODIMM memory.
Below is the link to the service manual.
Upgrading and Servicing Guide (EMEA with shipping label) (hp.com)
Another thing you can do is to run the free utility that I zipped up and attached below and it will tell you if there is 1 x 8 GB or 2 x 4 GB of memory installed.

You are a rock star! I've been trying to get the answer for a while. Picked up the pc "2nd hand", still in box, for cheap. Seriously. Your help has made me want to set it up instead of just selling it "3rd hand" to double back my 200 investment.
lol.
Thanks again for the info. And links. Much appreciated.
Take care.
