Hello, I want to increase my laptop RAM it comes with Micron company  4 GB RAM. I want to buy the same RAM for 2nd slot but it is very expensive. Can I use hynix company  4GB RAM. Are they compatible with each other or not? or I should buy one 8GB RAM and replace the existing 4GB RAM . How much speed difference between single channel and dual channel RAM?

This 4 GB memory chip should work fine with the existing one.

 

Crucial RAM 4GB DDR4 2666 MHz CL19 Laptop Memory CT4G4SFS8266 : Amazon.in: Computers & Accessories

 

Crucial memory is the consumer division of Micron.

 

2 x 4 GB of memory will run a bit better than 1 x 8 GB of memory.

Thank you for your quick response. 

In Crucial Rank and Configuration = 1Rx8 whereas in Micron it is 1Rx16 are they compatible, and what about CAS Latency?

It should be compatible.

 

The CL would both be CL19.
