Intend to make greater use of video; will need to increase video storage,
considering using USB SSD 2TB. What drive should I choose?
How should I test it`s performance and continually measure it`s performance?

Please try, I believe reviewers have tested them with their tools:

For testing SSD performance, I have relied on the AS SSD benchmarking tool -- which you can get from here: https://m.majorgeeks.com/files/details/as_ssd_benchmark.html
Understand though, that since you are connecting the SSD through a USB port, that will seriously throttle the transfer speed and you will get only a fraction of what the SSD could actually provide if it was connected internally.
