Increasing RAM Benefits and HP Ink Supply

Dear Friends aka Huffer
Hope your doing fine.
Where can I find a HP Black ink cartridge number 27 for an HP Deskjet 3520 printer? I understand they are hard to find. Are the Refilled ones any good? Or what do you suggest?
Also I have the HP d7-3085dx laptop with 4GB RAM. Would it help to add another 4 GB now that I'm running Windows 10? It  does seem to lag at times. Suggestions please.

More memory is always better. It would take 8 gigs and believe it is DDR3-8500 SO-DIMM...on HP printers I bite the bullet and get only genuine cartridges...but see your problem when I tried to find one on amazon. Have you tried the Office Store sites?

Let me know your opinion on the RAM as well and a Link would be helpful in either case.
Staples can obtain these 27X or XL but they're asking $183.00. Ridiculous! there are printers for 60$ that have a single tri-color cartridge. I wonder what HP is thinking when they so things like this.

Its not DDR3L (1.35 v) its just plain DDR3 (1.5 volt) and yes it is going to be hard to find. You might need to buy used from eBay. Same with the ink. I saw several options for "compatible" ink which I hesitate to use as HP will sometimes block it from working but if it is your only choice then that is what you have to get. Refilled cartridges I have not ever used. I am speaking of third party ink cartridges.

I searched "HP 27 Black cartridge" on eBay and came up with some refurbished (likely refilled) and then some expired original stock. I think a 2 or 3 year old expired inkjet cartridge, even if never opened is likely to be dried out so I would venture the 6 or 7 bucks for a refurbished one
