According to the repair shop's (KEA 3 / 200402225 ) service provider and management, they are saying that the power button was never designed to have a dedicated LED indicator from the factory. However, when I brought my laptop to them for repair, the power button did have a working LED indicator.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide me with information or documentation that confirms whether or not the power button on my HP 15-r152nu laptop has a LED indicator by design. I would like to resolve this issue and prove that I am correct.
After researching the product, I found that the official HP website and product manual confirm that the power button does have a LED indicator. Specifically, the official user guide for Windows 8.1 (available at [https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/setup-user-guides/hp-15-r100-notebook-pc-series/model/7500958] or attached as a PDF document) on page 11 states:
"The Power button has an LED light that indicates its status:
Component Description
(1) Power light:
● On: The computer is on.
● Blinking: The computer is in the Sleep state, a power-
saving state. The computer shuts off power to the
display and other unneeded components.
● Off: The computer is off or in Hibernation. Hibernation
is a power-saving state that uses the least amount of
power."
I would like to request clarification on this matter. Could you please confirm whether the power button on my HP 15-r152nu laptop has a LED indicator by design, and if so, what is its purpose?
