I'm planning to upgrade my laptop's RAM to 16 GB, and currently, I have 4 GB on my HP 250 G7 Notebook PC. The processor is an Intel® Core™ i3-1005G1 CPU @ 1.20GHz. Could you guide me on the recommended RAM speed (in MHz) that is compatible with my laptop? Additionally, I'm considering adding an 8 GB RAM stick to the second slot while keeping my existing 4 GB RAM in the first slot. Would there be any issues with having unequal RAM sizes, such as 4 GB and 8 GB? Furthermore, is it okay if one RAM stick has a higher Megahertz frequency than the other, creating an uneven frequency?

The processor is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.
You can install 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-2666 MHz memory in your notebook.
If you want to install DDR4-3200 MHz memory that will be fine as long as the memory is 1Rx8 and CL22.
It will automatically bridge to 2666 MHz because that is as fast as your notebook's processor can run the memory at.
You can leave the 4 GB memory chip installed and add an 8 GB memory chip and have 12 GB in total.
However, the memory will still run in single channel mode.
In order for the memory to run in dual channel mode, matching memory capacities must be installed in both slots.

The simple way to do this is to upgrade to a pair of identical guaranteed compatible memory modules. see the link for guaranteed compatible memory and SSD upgrades.
Your Core i3 processor is integrated into the chipset. That means that it is soldered on and not upgradeable.

That is a non-standard and sometimes failing upgrade path. You may only see one of the installed memory modules recognized by the OS and BIOS. I would not risk going that route.

Not really. The modules will default to the lower frequency. That is still not the best plan for an upgrade.

Yes, your notebook has a M.2 slot that supports NVMe SSD's.
The slot is PCIe Gen 3.0, so if you buy a PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD it will not run at its maximum advertised read/write speeds.
