I am trying to re-install o/s on the HP Pavillion mahine. I could not boot the installation from the internal DVD. I went to check the state of the DVD and got a message, "UEFI support environment pack not installed". I got the package from the site and want to install it using USB. How do I boot from USB and execute the package immediately? I made a bootable USB and copied the file on to it, but it would not boot. Please help!

Hi
You could try a USB with W8.1 on, and ESC and F9 to boot from local media.
ISO images of various Microsoft OS's are available.
They can be be downloaded (sometimes you need a licence key other than the HP OEM key)
and 'burnt'/expanded to a DVD/USB. They WONT contain appropriate HP software, like drivers etc.
But may enable a repair to be started.

The Microoft Creator Tool will make a Bootable USB.
