Product: HP EliteBook 840 G1 Base Model Notebook PC

Hello, I still own the HP840G1 with dualboot (WiN11 and Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon). Now I would like to install a fingerprint. Currently, a dummy is installed there. Battery out, HDD out and underneath is the black thin cover and underneath the dummy appears. BUT WHERE is the ribbon cable connected?

If you follow the pictures (the cable has a 90° angle) it might have to be routed towards the UMTS and WLAN cards and connected somewhere there. Can anyone help me with this, perhaps with an explanation or drawing?

Your machine is really old now. If you wish you can use the following part

 

          Fingerprint reader board (includes cable, bracket, and insulator) part #  730956-001

 

which is N/A now : https://partsurfer.hp.com/?searchtext=730956-001

 

You have to find it, may be from eBay

What I currently don't know is where the connection is on the Mainnoard. Can someone help me? Maybe someone has documents from the mainboard or something else and can make it available?
