Example: Pavilion 65XXHP 2000-bf69WM
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I have an older HP 2000-bf69WM laptop that came with windows 8. I’ve NEVER like 8 but just dealt with it. Windows 10 is even worse!  I’m wanting to buy a SSD drive and install Windows 7 64bit on it. Is this possible?

HP has not posted Windows 7 drivers for that model but likely they can be found and installed. I suspect your dislike for Windows 8 and now 10 may be more a case of frustration with the limits of the hardware in that laptop. AMD E-300 CPU is a very underpowered processor. Its a bit of a myth to think that Windows 7 will require fewer resources than 8 or 10 and I cannot see buying a copy of Windows 7 for this purpose. However, the simple answer to your question is yes. A 2.5 inch SATA SSD will be compatible and one could install Windows 7 64 bit onto it and find all the needed drivers. The processor is 64 bit compatible.

Hi, @J2569

Should you decide to install W7 64 bit, you can use all of the W7 drivers and software from the HP 2000z-2a00 on your model, except the BIOS and firmware files.

Before installing W7, you will first need to go into the BIOS, enable legacy mode, and disable secure boot.

W7 is not compatible with secure boot.
