HP 17-bs005ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good day!

I have an HP 17-bs005ur (1UQ31EA) laptop with a 500GB hard drive, I opened the laptop and saw that it has a free M2 slot.

Installed M2 SSD GIGABYTE M.2 2280 128GB Gigabyte PCI-E 3.0x4 NVMe 3D TLC. However, Windows 10 Pro x64 and BIOS do not see M2.

Help to fix the problem, how can you solve it?

Thank you in advance!

Hi:

The reason the NVMe M.2 SSD doesn't work is because the M.2 slot your notebook has only supports SATA M.2 SSD's.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the supported drive types.

The problem can be solved by returning or exchanging the NVMe M.2 SSD for a SATA M.2 SSD.
