Installing M.2 SDD along with HDD

Hi..

Is there any way to add M.2 SsD along with 1TB HDD that comes with lappy itself..

I have seen some suggestions to remove Optical drive and use 2.5 Sata SSD but i feel M.2 is better in performance

Here is the Manual and it is not good news for your plans:

The laptop does not support a dual drive configuration. Some were sold with an M.2 SATA disk but in those cases it uses an adapter board and the M.2 fits in the same bay as the hard drive. See page 66 for a picture of what that looks like. 

So it is EITHER a 2.5 inch hard drive or SSD OR an M.2 not both. 

An optical caddy for a solid state drive makes no sense for a variety of reasons including the SATA interface for the optical drive is slower and in most cases a disk in such a device is not bootable. 

Your best performance option is a 2.5 inch SATA SSD in place of the hard drive. Samsung Evo 850 is a good choice.

So as per page no 66 fig i need to remove Current HDD along with its SATA interface, then i need to replace it with M.2 interface adapter to use an M.2 SSD right?

What about installing an Sata SSD in that bay and add that stock 1TB HDD on Otical drive caddy!

That last suggestion is your best option. 

A couple facts are in favor of the 2.5 inch SSD.

1. In this case an M.2 SATA and 2.5 inch SATA SSD will perform the same since connecting through the same zif port so no speed advantage to an M.2

2.  You can install a 2.5 inch SATA SSD with the same internal hardware as used with the HDD. No extra caddy/adapter to buy and these special parts from HP are not always avaliable in any event and are not cheap when you can find a place to buy them. 

3.  The optical caddies are inexpensive and widely available. Every shop in China makes one. A 5400 rpm hard drive in one of these caddies will be slowish but still good enough for pure storage like your video and music collection. Post back if you want help finding one to buy.
