how can I clarify wether the laptop

Hi:

 

You will have to open up the notebook and check, and here's why...

 

Below is the link to the service manual.

 

Maintenance and Service Guide HP 15 Laptop PC

 

Chapter 1 has the supported drive types.

 

Your notebook, if it has a M.2 slot, supports SATA and NVMe M.2 SSD's.

 

The M.2 slot is a separate part.  If you look at chapter 3, page 18, item # 12, there is this part needed for the M.2 drive...

 

(12) Solid-state drive connector board    L20457-001

 

It may be possible that since your notebook did not come with a M.2 SSD from the factory, the slot may not be there.
