Is there a service manual somewhere with instructions on how to disassemble the Spectre x360 13-AE013DX for replacing/upgrading the SSD? I've done google searches but can't come up with anything. Ditto on searching HP website.

Are we talking about the same laptop? The specs I see say it has a 512 gig PCIe/NVME M.2 and you want to go bigger than that? HP did offer it with up to a 2 TB NVME M.2 disk.
Start on p. 29 to remove the back cover.
M.2 slot circled in red
$614 for a 2 TB:
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solutuion if this is the info you needed.

Thanks for the link. Yes, I'd like a bigger drive. I have a rather large photo library (600GB) plus all my music that I'd like to be able to bring with me when i travel.
I bought the laptop locally so it had the drive it had in it. Even as of today I don't see a 2TB option on this system on the HP website. Even if I could find it, it would be cheaper to upgrade the hard drive in my existing laptop.
Again, thanks for the link. It's exactly what I was looking for.

The 2 TB option probably was only offered to enterprise orders as very few consumers would spend the extra bucks it would require, but a 2 TB configuration is listed in the Manual. Thanks and glad to have helped.
