HP Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Intel says a graphics update (15.40) is available, but when I try to install it I get this error message:

"Your computer manufacturer customizes drivers that run Intel® components on your machine."

However, HP Support Assistant says no updates are available.

Why, please?

It takes HP a while to make its own driver out of the Intel updated driver. Sometimes HP stops updating at all. If you want to try the new Intel driver you have to use the "force install", manual, "have disk" method which is only a little more difficult to do but is not automated.

The most important thing is to download the .zip version of the Intel driver and unpack it somewhere on the hard drive you can find and point the installer toward.

Thanks, Huffer, for the quick response!

I am not tech-savvy, and your solution seems beyond me.  I'm not actually having graphics issues, just wanted to be up-to-date, so I think I'll wait for HP to catch up to Intel (or not).

Again, thank you!
