HP Pavilion - 15-cc055od
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

About a week ago I was able to able to google a patch for my laptop.  It brought up a site on HP.COM that listed all affected computers.  Mine was one of them.  Now I cannot locate that information.  I have spoken with 3 different HP "support" people and they act as if I'm crazy and lying.

Someone please help.  HP/Intel has a patch and I need it!

Thank you.

> I AM NOT LYING WHEN I TELL YOU THAT ABOUT A WEEK AGO HP HAD A LIST OF AFFECTED COMPUTERS WITH MINE BEING INCLUDED.  NEXT TO MY COMPUTER MODEL WAS A LINK TO A *PATCH* TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.

Yes, Intel did release updates for "Meltdown" and/or "Spectre" vulnerabilities, around the start of 2018.

Yes, HP did incorporate those updates into their updates for HP computers.

Then, Intel announced that their updates were causing problems, and Intel recommended to NOT install those updates.

HP reacted by deleting the updates from the HP web-sites, and issuing BIOS updates that "regressed" the BIOS to their level before the first BIOS update.

Since then, Intel has released a revised update, starting with their newest processors.

HP has reacted by issuing new updates.

So, what you saw could have been seen in that "window" between the release of the first version of the update and the deletion of the update from HP's web-site.

It's easy to purchase Xmas decorations in December, but it can be difficult to purchase Xmas decorations around Easter -- another "time-limited-offer".

Although I am an HP Employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

The fact that you deleted my post calling you all liers proves even more that HP is a POS company.

I will never EVER purchase a single HP product again in my lifetime.
