HP Pavilion 15-cr0000 x360 Convertible

I have this laptop, is hardly used, from day 1 of purchase its very slow for a new laptop- HP Pavilion 15-cr0000 x360 Convertible 1TB HDD. I was wondering if i can install and Intel Optane on my laptop. If Any one can help with my query please.

Hi,

You give the model number for the whole series 15-cr0000 and not for the specific model number you have.

Example: Pavilion x360 15-cr0000nk

 

Anyway if you have an Intel 8th gen Core CPU (not Pentium) you can install an M2 PCIe NVMe SSD (there is no mention of Optane in the service manual). In my opinion it is the better choice anyway.

So, something like the Samsung 970 Evo Plus would be the best, but even cheaper (and slower) like the Crucial P1 would give a great boost to the everyday performance of the PC.

You can then reinstall the OS on the SSD and keep the Hard Drive for storage (or just remove the Hard Drive). There is no limit to the capacity of the SSD.
