HP support  Assistant insists on doing the upgrade but it always fails or the  Assistant can't detedct that is was sucessfully installed ( often the Installation comes back with the message that the tinstall was sucessfull.  I need to either be able to override the  assistant and indicate that the install was sucessful or get it to recognize the install.

I have a few steps to help you out:

 

Please install the driver from the HP website to check if that works fine: Click here

If you continue to get notifications on the HP Support assistant, please use the below steps to uninstall it and when done, reinstall it to resolve the issue:

  1. In Windows, search for an open Uninstall a program.

  2. On the Programs and Features window, select HP Support Assistant, then click Uninstall.

  3. Click Yes on the Programs and Features screen to confirm you want to uninstall HP Support Assistant.

  4. Restart your computer to complete the process.

Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

NOTE:
