Hey everyone!
Finally had the courage to spend a lot of money (to me) on a gaming pc (hp omen with gtx 1060 maxq, i5-7300HQ @2.50GHz with 16gb RAM) Im very pleased with it but recently its getting bottlenecked by the cpu. I never had that problem before so I went looking. I installed intel XTU and saw that during a benchmark the cpu didn’t use turbo boost and locked at 2.40GHz.
So I thought maybe the benchmark is not enough stress on the cpu to start the turbo. I tested a number of games (witcher 3, crysis 3, fallout 4) and still it locked at 2.40GHz. There is no thermal or power throttling
I did check the intel product page to be sure turbo boost is available on this processor and it is.
So here is my question:
Is it locked due to safety by Hp?
Is there something wrong with my processor?
Thanks for the help!

@WardVD Yes, I'm afraid it is locked by HP for safety, as your particular model does not support overclocking, also to let you know HP doesn't recommend using 3rd party programs to run a benchmark as it may be inaccurate, that said, you may click here to verify which features are currently supported on your device (OMEN by HP - 15-ce025nb).
