HP Recommended

My HP Notebook laptop battery charging is not continuous. The charging icon intermittently changes to battery mode from plugged-in although the external power adapter is plugged in to the laptop's power port.

 

If I remove the battery, but keep the power adapter plugged in, the laptop stays on continously and does not switch off intermittently.

 

What could be the issue? Would it help to change the charging port inside the laptop?
