Model 14 Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased a PNY internal SSD last weekend because my laptop has an open slot for a 2.5" SSD. As instructed, I cloned my existing HD. I installed the Acronis software and followed instructions with the support tech on the phone. Then, again as instructed , I installed the new SSD internally. Now my computer does not recognize the new SSD. PNY tech says, oh well I guess those don't work in the HP. Any ideas?

Hi:

What is the product number of your notebook?

Use this guide to find that information...please do not post the serial number.

If your notebook came with a M.2 SSD, I am very surprised all the parts were there to install a 2.5" drive.

Usually the hard drive connector and caddy are missing.

The product ID is:1KU71UA#ADA The internal drive is 64GB, I'm assuming it is a chip. I cloned it to the new SSD so if I had to eliminate the original, it wouldn't bother me.

Hi:

Below is the link to the product specs for your notebook.

Models with the eMMC drives only work with the eMMC drive.

All the other drive ports/slots are disabled, and cannot be enabled.

That is why your 2.5" drive is not showing up.
