I am not computer savvy so please answer as simply as possible. I don't even know the part/s I am looking for. My laptop power supply cord is not seating into the internal hole and therefore not charging. Is there anything I can do short of buying another computer? If so, what do I search for and where?
Thank you for quick reply. Down to 40% battery and using my tablet but need laptop for work.

Then, please allow me to enlighten you ...
The charger has a power plug on the end and this connects to a Power Socket in a laptop. That is how the DC power gets from the charger into the laptop.
This Power Socket is soldered to the laptop system board, but it can work loose or even break the connectors. When the first happens, wiggling the power plug will cause the light on the charger to flicker. When the second happens, the laptop will stop charging.
If the connectors break, the only solution is to have the Power Socket replaced and HP does not do those repairs. You would have to find a local laptop repair shop to do this for you, and you would need to get an estimate from them BEFORE having the work done because this can be quite expensive, since they have to disassemble the entire laptop to do this work.
