HP Recommended

I have an HP 255 GB note book with a dual boot Win 11 and  linux  Zorin 

I want to upgrade the SSD from 256 to 500 Gb by cloning, my Q is will it take ( already bought ) a NVMe  M.2 PCIe  ssd ?

I have the appropriate external  caddy along with a Crucial ssd as above but when I connect it externally to my laptop ready to clone  it's not recognised, the blue indicator light on the caddy comes on but that's it.

some help and advice please.
