I have a brand new x360 15t (Product number# 4CJ41AV) that I can't get the scroll direction to change. There simply isn't a setting in the Settings>Devices>Touchpad menu that changes the direction of scrolling. I've done the HP recommended driver updates, BIOS, and Windows 10 Pro Updates, but additional options don't show.

Thank you for posting back.
Let's try uninstalling the Touchpad device from device manager.
- Use shortcut keys Win + X on Windows 10.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand the entry. Right-click the Mice and other pointing device and select Uninstall all listed device.
- You may need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device, and then click the Uninstall button.
- Reboot the computer.
Keep me posted for further assistance.

Echo_Lake,
Powering off the laptop, holding the power button for 15 seconds does not seem to work. The laptop just powers on after 15 seconds and there is nothing to note that there was a successful reset. Perhaps the instructions aren't for my specific x360 Spectre 15t laptop?
b/r,
Mark

OK, uninstalled the driver. Powered down, then back up. Now there is no scrolling using the Clickpad.
Right-click on "Mice and other pointing devices" only brought up "Scan for hardware changes" and "Properties", but no "Uninstall" option, I had to click on "HID-compliant mouse" in the submenu and uninstall the driver and delete the software.
On restart, the "HID-compliant mouse" is still listed under the "Mice and other pointing devices" submenu, but now I don't have any scrolling ability, and the clickpad is extremely sensitive.

Windows Update tried to install Synaptics drivers, but it showed that it failed. Restarted my laptop and it's so much better, but I think it's because Synaptics drivers DIDN'T install; here's why I think this. When getting into the Touchpad settings, there are so many more options and under the window title "Touchpad" is "Your PC has a precision touchpad". Clicking on "additional settings" brings up "Mouse Properties"; clicking on "Hardware" shows "HID-compliant mouse" but there's a little yellow caution triangle on the mouse icon. Device Properties shows - Manufacturer: Synaptics; Location: on I2C HID Device; Device status: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19).
Best of all, I can down invert the scroll direction. Seems like Synaptics is the issue and Windows default drivers work WAY better!

I am glad to know that you managed to figured Windows default deriver as an alternate.
However, Let's try performing driver rollback.
- Use shortcut keys Win + X on Windows 10.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand the entry. Right-click the Mice and other pointing device and right-click open properties and select Rollback Driver.
And, also right-click on the little yellow exclamation mark on mouse icon and run the troubleshooter.
This should fix the issue. Keep me posted for further assistance.

Before I try that, can you confirm that the rollback wouldn't change the current Clickpad settings? I'm really liking them compared to what I had with Synaptics, and from what I read Synaptics isn't all that great. I just don't want to roll back to something that is subpar to my current experience.

That's totally fine if you're enjoying the current experience with the touchpad functionality.
To get the answer to this question, performing a driver rollback will change the current settings,
