My brand new laptop has a continuous high pitched whine / noise when running. How can I stop this?

I had to take the laptop back to John Lewis where their excellent Technical Support Desk helped me. The noise has to be the Cooling Fan. The John Lewis technical support rep removed the duplicate anti virus software and also found that the wireless mouse I was using was in a loop constantly looking for software updates.
Just keeping the laptop somewhere very cold also helps.
Working outdoors in winter should be no issue.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand you are getting an error from the computer.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
Is the noise coming from the system fan?
Meanwhile, I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check if it helps.
