HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb009ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello. I have an HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb009ur laptop. How much RAM can I put on it at most? AIDA says 64 gb. But the spec says 16. On the forums, they say you can put two cards of 16. But I want two cards of 32 gb. Can I put 2 32gb RAM card in there?

@kortasartr,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

The manual for the HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb009ur (1ZA83EA) as seen here: HP Pavilion Power 15 Laptop PC* Model numbers: 15-cb000 – 15-cb099 Maintenance and Service GuideIMPO..., sets the RAM limit at 2 x 8GB RAM.

However, according to: https://www.memorystock.com/memory/HewlettPackardPavilionPower15cb009ur.html, and by looking at actual Users such as this one: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/49309563, the max RAM that is compatible with an HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb009ur is 2 x 16GB of DDR4 PC4-19200, 2400 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, SODIMM, 260-pin RAM sticks.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

@kortasartr,

All right, let's use a wmic command to know for sure.

Please type in cmd in your Windows search bar, then right-click on the "Command Prompt" App, then left-click on "Run as administrator" and click on "Yes" to confirm.

Then copy/paste/enter the following command:

wmic memphysical get MaxCapacity, MemoryDevices

And you should see something like this -using my HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF as an example:

For my PC, the "MaxCapacity" shows 67108864. When you divide this number by 1024 and then again by 1024, you get 64 -which means 64GB.

Please let me know what your result is.

@kortasartr,

And come to think of it, let's also check/confirm what the maximum RAM speed for your laptop is.

For my desktop, even though I got 4 x 8GB of 3200 MHz Samsung RAM sticks installed, the max RAM speed for my HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF is 2667 MHz.

To find your max RAM speed, go to: Task Manager > Performance -choose the second symbol down on the left:

Then select RAM, maximize your screen, and you'll see something like this at the bottom:

@kortasartr,

You got: 335544323, and when divided by 1024 and again divided by 1024 gives you 32GB of total RAM over two RAM slots.  To take advantage of dual channel mode, 2 x 16GB RAM is the best config/maximum RAM possible on your PC.

Hope this was helpful.
