I want to upgrade but unsure if the given RAM is compatible with my laptop.

It might be but only if it is CL22.

However, the service manual indicates the max is 2 x 16 GB:

 

OMEN by HP 15 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide

 

The memory is only going to run at 2666 MHz in your notebook because that is as fast as the processor can run the memory at.
