Hi,
Sometimes HP support assistant knocks me to do "Automated Tuneup" and I always use to postpone it or cancel. As some guys had pretty bad experiences like too much deyaed process, having error etc., I've never tried to have that. I had my original Win7 Home OS and now I have upgraded to Win10 Home version because of having some problems like slowing down and others.
1. What will automated tuneup process give my notebook as benefit?
2. Is it the same as keeping notebooks updated with available updates? Or something else?
3. Will it help to make my laptop work faster?
Don't know whether it's a silly question or not. Any positive answer will be appreciated.
Thanks for reading.
Regards.

Hi,
This is what HP tune-up performs (taken from HP doc.):
"
- Clean out temporary files, cookies, and unnecessary files
- Perform disk defragmentation (e.g. rearrange the files on the hard disk to optimize performance)
- Create a restore point for the PC (a user can return the PC to an earlier state before the computer exhibited some problems)
- Perform a health scan to analyze the computer and update HP software (drivers, applications, firmware BIOS)"
So it is not necessary to keep on the PC. There are many other programs which will basically perform the same functions and Windows 10 will automatically install updates for drivers. You can also search and find updated drivers and Bios for your PC on HP support page for your device. Many use programs such as ccleaner for cleaning temp files and cleaning Browser.
Hope it helps,
David
