My DV6-2120TX is running windows 10 32 bit.
I am trying to install Windows 10 64 bit.
When I boot from the ISO file on the USB stick, it shows the windows symbol and the . circles.
It then resets and reboots.
1) Has anyone successfully run Windows 10 64 bit on their DV6-2120TX (as looking at windows pre-requisites it should be supported)
2) I wanted to check that the BIOS version on motherboard was the latest but the HP site no longer contains this information. Does anyone have access to this information?

Hi:
I can only answer your second question.
From what I can tell, you do not have the latest BIOS installed.
The latest BIOS is F.1C with a release date of June 11, 2010.
Here is the info file. You will need to use Internet explorer to open the links.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48501-49000/sp48953.html
Here is the Exe file:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48501-49000/sp48953.exe
Your notebook's Intel Core i5-430M processor is capable of running 64 bit operating systems, so in theory installing W10 x64 should work.

Thanks so much for your help!
With the new BIOS my laptop continued to run Windows 10 32 bit.
And when I reverted the memory back to the original 2x2GB RAM it started working with Win 10 64 bit. Success!
The intel 430m CPU supports 8GB RAM but I noted the HP spec sheet for the dv6-2120TX has only 4GB maximum RAM.
I had 2x8GB RAM installed with Win10 32bit and it had worked fine with only the 4GB win10 32 bit limit available for use.
I have now tried a single 8GB RAM with win10 64 bit and it crashed on startup. What are the chances that 2x4GB RAM would work? Is it worth a try?

You're very welcome.
It is very hard to find the right memory that works in any HP notebook with the 1st gen core processors.
2 x 4 GB is the max.
The physical description is this...
Must be 1.5V, not 1.35V
Must have 8 little black memory chips on each side of the circuit board, not 4.
Must be DDR3-1333 MHz not anything faster such as DDR3-1600.
I know this memory would work in your notebook but I have no idea if you can get it in New Zealand.
