SSD stands for solid state drive and it is faster than HDD (hard drive) since it does not have any moving pieces that rotate.

My laptop doesn't have a problem. I just don't know if my laptop's capable of holding both SSD and HDD at the same time.

That's true. The specs of your machine is

It has a slow 1 TB 5400 rpm SATA now. You can add M.2 NVMe SSD to your machine using

             https://www.crucial.com/products/ssd/crucial-p5-ssd
      Or similar from reputable vendors.
          One example (compatible drive, can use smaller/larger capacity)
