15" Pavilion Model 15-cs0034cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Any help appreciated with this query.  I want to buy this Pavilion from Costco online.   Costco directs me to HP.  HP wants to know the serial number (which I don't have) before I buy it to answer the question.

I want to know if I can put a 256 or 512 SSD in this and what compatiblity requirements would be.   The unit is good otherwise...has an 8th Gen i7;  low end discrete graphic and 12 Gb of Ram.

Unfortunately the hard drive is a 5600 rpm dinosaur.

I'm guessing I'd kill the warranty on it even if it is upgradable...but probably worth it due to price.

Thnak you!

Yeah it has an open M.2 slot and can take either a SATA-3 M.2 or the faster PCIe/NVME type.

HP does allow you to remove the back cover to upgrade memory or storage and there will be no effect on the warranty as long as no damage is done.

Possible M.2 disks to use:

Many thanks for the detailed response. I finally was able to talk to two HP sales reps who emphatically said NO, I couldn't. So, I bought a more powerful Lenovo yesterday.

They make a nice laptop. Sorry we wasted the time here.
