My Laptop is 5 yrs old. I have couple of issues with it, like Diplay and Battery. I want them to be replaced. Got to know from HP Authorized Service Center that, company is not supporting for model's which are older than 4 to 4.5 yrs. When asked for alternate solution, he suggested to go with non-branded of similar kind. Is this real ?

In case, if above news is correct, where to get those replaced in India ?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Once your product reaches the obsolete stage, the hardware and service support will come limited.

I would recommend going for a new model computer will be a great upgrade.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hello Echo_Lake,

Below are my comments

  1. Working with an old device: I agree that, it's not always easy with old device.
  2. Regarding product obsolete, service drop: How I can know that HP has marked by product as obsolete and, it has stopped providing service. Is there any link providing all these details ?In case, if HP stopped service, what alternate way do you suggest for replacing spares ( like Diplay and Battery) ?

Thanks.

Usually, the product support from HP will generally be for 5 years from the End of the Sale date.

As you've mentioned about HP Authorized Service Center, the hardware service options are not available for this model.
If you have purchased a computer from the store lately, you can contact the store for further support on this issue.
