Hi, I will buy "James Donkey JD240 240GB 3D Nand 2.5" 560MB-500MB/s SSD". In forum, they says the SSD might have compability problem. I just want to ask, is this SSD model makes any problem in my notebook?

Its an off brand so who knows how well its made. Certainly nobody here is going to tell you "great...perfect...you will have no problems." Spend some extra and get a name brand.

So, what about Crucial BX500 240GB SSD

HP Recommended

Much better choice...I actually like Samsung best but Crucial is respectable. 2.5 inch SATA SSDs are actually pretty trouble free for the most part. The James Donkey thing might work...I have sometimes used off-brand stuff but I know I am taking a risk

Hi, @batulaiko

If you are going to go with Crucial, I recommend the slightly more expensive MX series which has a faster read/write speed.

This is the 250 GB MX model recommended by Crucial for the 250 G4.

I will remove CD-Rom and I will use SSD for Windows. Other 500GB HDD is for extra storage. Do you think M2 Sata's are usable for HP 250 G4? if it is, I can buy an M2 SATA SSD but I don't think so 😄

HP Recommended

t is much better than BX series but I am a student and I have a little bit money and in my country, technologic stuffs are a little bit expensive 😄. If BX500 is okay to my pc, I will buy it tomorrow with an CDROM adapter 9.5mm

HP Recommended

I would never remove the DVD drive and install a SSD/adapter in its place.

The SSD will not perform as fast, because the port the DVD drive is connected to normally has a slower SATA speed.

There are no M.2 slots for a SSD in the 250 G4 model series.

I will buy that for my HDD. SSD will be my master SATA, HDD will be my slave SATA and there will not be a CD-ROM

OK.

Now I understand...you will put the SSD in place of the current hard drive, and then move the hard drive to the DVD ROM adapter.
